If you are looking for quality daycare in Cincinnati, look no further than JELC! Located in Clifton and housed on the campus of Hebrew Union College on Clifton Avenue, the Jewish Early Learning Cooperative is a daycare that follows a cooperative model to provide exceptional care for your child. Our committed staff work hard to provide children with a nurturing and stimulating environment everyday. Parents are on site throughout the day, helping to keep the center clean and safe, while enjoying an insider view of their child's day!
At JELC, we understand that working parents are busy. In order to help keep your child care costs down, we offer parents the opportunity to 'work' at the center. For 3 hours every week, parent hour responsibilities may include assisting the teachers with child-related tasks and/or performing daily jobs and special projects that are necessary for JELC to provide a sanitary environment for our children and to run efficiently.
Weekly parent hours will be schedule by you and the Director. Scheduling preferences will be prioritized and taken into account whenever possible. If parents can't make their scheduled hours, the commitment is flexible and 'buy out' options are available.
Examples of tasks include monitoring of children in the classroom or on the playground, setting up/cleaning up art projects, setting up classrooms with new toys/activities, sweeping floors, vacuuming, bleaching toys, cleaning the kitchen, and removing of trash.
Parent hours are a great opportunity for you to have a birds-eye view into JELC and learn how your children spend their days. You are immediately part of the JELC community and play an active role in your child's care. Plus, your children learn very early that when everyone pitches in, the reward is great.
For those parents that can't fit parent hours into their schedule, JELC is still the place for you! Many families are unable to work parent hours and there are many other opportunities for you to become as thoroughly involved in their care without committing to the three hours per week. We will work with each family individually to ensure that your child and your place at JELC is the perfect fit.
JELC is committed to serving a diverse population of children and families. In the center, book, toys, art and music reflect diversity of cultural and religious backgrounds.
JELC is licensed by the State of Ohio and the City of Cincinnati to care for up to twenty-five children, starting at three months of age. State and City licensing specialists visit the center twice yearly to assure compliance of rules.
We at JELC do not discriminate against any race, color religion, sex, national origin or disability in violation of ADA act of 1990, 104 Stat. 32, 42 U. S. C. 12101 et seq. This applies to hiring of our staff and enrollment of children.
